BreMap is a web based tool developed by BRE and was originally funded by Biffaward
through landfill tax credits and a grant from the Institution of Civil Engineers
R&D Enabling Fund.
BreMap is an interactive tool designed to help you find the most appropriate method
for managing your waste based on distance with sites listed for reuse, recycling,
transfer and sorting, recovery and landfill. BreMap can be used to assist with defining
your waste management options as part of Site Waste Management Plans (SWMPs). You
can develop and implement a SWMP by using our free online tool SMARTWaste Plan.
The system also lists sources of reclaimed and recycled products and equipment for
recycling and reprocessing.
Searching BreMap
Type in the postcode or county of your site and a search radius to look for waste
management facilities using the following options; company activity, product/waste
group or material recovered. BreMap will present you with a map showing the waste
management facilities available in your chosen area. Brief details of these results
are displayed as a table and more detailed information of a particular facility
or company can be viewed by clicking on the company name.
You can also add companies to a route plan to show a map of the route from your
site to the companies of interest.
